Spooky Season is upon us! Halloween is this Saturday and what better way to get into the spirit of things than to bring some Disney Halloween celebrations into your home?
There are so many awesome options to help you have the best time and I can't wait to share with you 10 ways you can have a most excellent Disney Halloween whilst never leaving your house!
Lets begin!
1. Watch a Halloween Movie on Disney+
Disney+ has so many spooky movies and TV series for you to enjoy! Disney have made sure that they aren't too scary, so are the perfect Halloween entertainment that is fun for the whole family!
Choose from a great selection of films and TV shows, including the ultimate Disney Halloween film, 'Hocus Pocus', a film based on an Disney iconic attraction 'The Haunted Mansion', the Disney Channel show 'Vampirina' or the classic 'Halloweentown'! Perhaps you will court controversy and watch 'Nightmare Before Christmas' (is this a Halloween movie or Christmas movie? Let me know what you think in the comments below!)

2. Get Dressed Up
Being at home doesn't mean you can't get dressed up! It is super fun to wear costumes whilst having your Halloween celebrations in the comfort of your own home. You can wear ones you already have or can set a challenge that everyone has to try and make a costume out of anything you have in the house! You can even turn it into a contest! What prize would you give to the winner?
If you don't have a costume at home don't fret! Get into the spirit with any awesome Disney apparel you have! The Evil Queen from Snow White is one of my favourite Disney Villains. I like her even more when she is the Old Hag, so this outfit I put together is perfect to wear!
3. Make Halloween Treats
Everyone likes some sweet treats at Halloween so why not replicate some iconic Disney snacks at home?
Some great options to make are:
- Candy Apples
- Rice Krispy Treats decorated Halloween style
- Worms and Dirt
- Spooky decorated Halloween Cupcakes
This awesome Not So Poison Apple Cupcake is a classic Halloween treat at Magic Kingdom. Making a DIY version at home can add the perfect Disney touch to your celebrations!
4. Decorate Your Home!
If you have any Halloween decor, especially if it is Disney, then be sure to spookify your house!
If you don't have any Halloween ornaments to display you can make you own bunting or Halloween paintings to hang up. Youtube is a great place to find tutorials for crafty projects!
5. Trick or Treat Trail at Home
Trick or treating is such a big part of Halloween. Although we may not be able to go door to door this year there is a way to put a unique spin on this tradition to enable you to do it at home.
One way is to create a trick or treat trail. You can put different candy stations around your house and make signposts to direct your participants to them.
My favourite option is to create a treat hunt in the same fashion as an Easter egg hunt! Hide sweet treats around the house and then create cryptic clues to find them. If you want to give your clues a Disney spin you can make them about characters or rides, for example 'you may get dizzy on this ride, but what sweet treat will you find inside?'. The answer to this would be a tea cup! Hide some sweets inside a tea cup to be found by your trick or treaters!
6. Read a Spooky Disney Book
I am an avid reader and love nothing more than curling up with a creepy story on Halloween! There is an excellent series of books that tells you the origin stories of some of Disney's most iconic baddies.
'Disney Villain Tale's by Serena Valentino gives you an insight into the lives of the Disney villains we all know and love! Pictured above is a collection of 4 books that tell the following stories.
- Mother Knows Best - All about Mother Gothel from Tangled
- The Beast Within - All about The Beast from Beauty and the Beast
- Poor Unfortunate Souls - All about Ursula from The Little Mermaid
- Fairest of Them All - All About The Evil Queen from Snow White
7. Have a Spooktacular Drink in a Disney Mug
With the nights drawing in early and a chill in the air now is the perfect time to have a hot drink and cosy up to watch a scary film or read a spooky villain tale!
Use your favourite Halloween Disney mug to make this fitting to this spooktacular occasion!
8. Watch the Boo To You Parade on Youtube
The Boo To You Parade is the highlight of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for me! Get into the Halloween spirit by enjoying this excellent parade via Youtube! Filled with Disney characters in their Halloween costumes, and everyone's favourite villains, this parade is a must see! My favourite part is the Haunted Mansion section! And be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a special appearance at the start of the parade....
9. Watch the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular on Youtube
This iconic show is the centerpiece of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! Hosted by the Sanderson Sisters this awesome stage show brings together everyone's favourite villains for a musical spectacular! Sit back and enjoy watching this fantastic show via Youtube!
10. Do the Ultimate Disney Quiz
