The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter there are no specific vegan options but if you really would like to experience dining in these magical locations then you can modify dishes to be made vegan.

At the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure you can order a modified vegan breakfast made from Baked Breakfast Beans, Grilled Tomato, Sautéed Mushrooms and Breakfast Potatoes. You are also able to order Steamed Oats or Gluten-Free Pancakes which can be made vegan upon request.

For lunch and dinner the only vegan options are Vegetable Sides (made without butter), a Baked Potato with baked beans (with no butter or sour cream) or a Garden Salad with Italian Dressing.

At the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley in Universal Studios you can order the same breakfast items as in the Three Broomsticks. Their lunch and dinner vegan options are a Veggie Platter (no bread), a Side Salad with Italian Dressing, a side of Cooked Tomatoes, Beets, Potato Wedge or Mixed Roasted Vegetables.

Sadly Butterbeer isn't vegan but many other drinks, like Pumpkin Juice, Tongue Tying Lemon Squash, Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice and Wizards Brew, are vegan.

You can also get vegan sweets from Weasley's Wizard Wheeze, Honeydukes and Sugarplum's Sweet Shop. Some of the vegan sweets include:

  • Candy in a Can

  • Puking Pastilles

Volcano Bay

If you are visiting Volcano Bay to cool off in the water and get thrills from the slides then rest assured there are vegan options for you to enjoy whilst here!

You can enjoy foods such as a Chick'n & Avocado Sandwich Platter from Bambu, a Tropical Baby Greens Salad from Waikawaiwai Eats and a Beyond Burger, Veggie Wrap or Vegetable Sushi from Kohola Reef Restaurant.

Vegan Food at Universal Orlando Compared To Disney World

Universal is offering more and more vegan options all the time. Compared to Disney World there are fewer options on offer but Universal are catching up!

We are also starting to see items listed as vegan, or how to make them vegan, on menus which is fantastic to see! It is getting easier all the time to eat vegan at Universal Orlando with more foods to try and dishes to choose from!

A big bonus is that the food is often cheaper at Universal Orlando, particularly for table service options. Prices in City Walk are really quite affordable with quick service options around $8 to $10 and table service entrees starting from $12 up to the mid $20's. This is far cheaper than some meals at Disney World which can easily be $40 to $100 per person depending on what you order!
