2021 is a big year at Disney World! On October 1st Disney World will celebrate its 50th Anniversary!
To mark this special occasion Disney World will be having lots of festivities, including two new firework spectaculars, commemorative statues, a brand new daytime show, new costumes and much more!
The 50th Anniversary starts on October 1st 2021 but will run for 18 months so there is plenty of time to enjoy all the new celebrations!
Let's look at all the details we know so far about the 50th Anniversary celebrations and what else is coming this Fall to Disney World!
New Fireworks Show 'Enchantment'
A new firework spectacular will debut in Magic Kingdom on October 1st!
The show is called 'Enchantment' and will for the first time see projections cascade from Cinderella Castle down Main Street!
This is a totally brand new fireworks and projections show designed for 50th Anniversary celebrations. The illustration above gives an idea of what this will look like. I cannot wait to see what Disney are planning for this new nighttime show!
Gold Statues
New gold statues will be coming to Magic Kingdom for the 50th Anniversary, including Mickey and Minnie, who will be in front of Cinderella Castle.
Disney have also announced that there will be a ‘surprising’ way to interact with these Disney Fab 50 statues!

New Costumes and a New Cavalcade
Mickey Celebration Cavalcade will be new for the 50th Anniversary and can be seen in Magic Kingdom from October 1st.
During this new cavalcade we will get to see Mickey and his pals in their new EARidescent costumes, especially design for the 50th Anniversary!
Mickey Celebration Cavalcade will travel through Magic Kingdom several times a day, giving you plenty of opportunities to see it!
Celebration Decor
Magic Kingdom is already being decorated in advance of the 50th Anniversary. You can currently enjoy seeing the makeover Cinderella Castle is receiving!
Cinderella Castle has been being adorned with decorative flags, jewels, gold ribbon and bunting decorations.
Over the coming months we should start to see more decor appear as we get closer to the 50th Anniversary on October 1st!
Also Coming this Fall to Disney World
Magic Kingdom is not the only Disney Park that is celebrating!
As well as the 50th Anniversary celebrations there are also lots of exciting updates coming this fall!

EPCOT Harmonious - October 1st
EPCOT's new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious, will finally debut on October 1st! This long awaited show was previously postponed due to the pandemic.
Disney have described Harmenious as 'one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park, the show will celebrate how the music of Disney inspires people the world over, carrying them away harmoniously on a stream of familiar Disney tunes reinterpreted by a diverse group of artists from around the globe. “Harmonious” will feature massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, lasers and more.'
Harmonious sounds like it will be absolutely incredible and will showcase amazing technology and spectacular visuals to create a DIsney nighttime spectacular like we have never seen before!
New KiteTails Show - October 1st
Disney KiteTails will be coming to Animal Kingdom from October 1st. This is a daytime show, which will be where the previous Rivers of Life nighttime show was, and will feature huge kites showing off Disney characters dancing through the sky.
The kites are up to 30 feet long and will move around to the sounds of iconic Disney tunes!
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure - October 1st
A brand new ride is coming to EPCOT! Remy's Ratatouille Adventure is a 4D traceless ride where you shrink down to the size of a rat and scurry around the kitchen of Gusteau's Restaurant!
The cool thing about this attraction is no two rides are the same because of the traceless technology!
France Expansion - October 1st
As well as a new ride the whole of the France pavilion is being expanded. Look how pretty it looks!
As well as Remy's Ratatouille Adventure we will also see a new restaurant, Le Creperie de Paris. Come here to dine on French cuisine, with a menu created by chef Jérôme Bocuse, who is also behind the Chef de France and Monsieur Paul restaurants in the France pavilion.
The expansion of this area of EPCOT will be a great new addition! A brand new ride is always fantastic, new dining options are always a win and the area looks beautiful and gives people even more space to explore and take photos whilst at EPCOT!
Incredibles Rooms at the Contemporary Resort - Fall 2021
Rooms at the Contemporary Resort are currently getting a makeover! The rooms are being updated and will now have an Incredibles theme.
The theming and decor of the rooms are super stylish and retro-futuristic. I love the monorail design on the curtains! To have the monorail motif is such a nice nod to Disney and the Contemporary Resort, where the monorail goes straight through the building!
The Incredibles decor is subtle but adds so much to the rooms! I love the character pillows!
How cool are the inside of the drawers?
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I love the midcentury decor which totally fits the theme. The rooms aren't overly cluttered and are really functional as well as stylish.
This is your wardrobe. Best hang your clothes quick to keep the superhero costumes hidden!
I love the new theming of these rooms! Such a fun way to freshen up the design and a great way to entice people to stay.
The Contemporary Resort is just one monorail stop from Magic Kingdom or a 5 minute walk. You could not be any closer!
You can also select to stay in a theme park view room. Being able to look over Magic Kingdom and see iconic buildings like Space Mountain and Cinderella Castle as well as the fireworks from your room is incredible! (Pun intended!)
The new Incredibles rooms will debut this Fall.
The Wave...of American Flavors Retheming
As part of the retheming of the Contemporary Resort one of the table service restaurant, The Wave...of American Flavors, will be closing Mid-July to be rethemed. The rumours are that this popular restaurant will become an Incredibles themed restaurant, possibly a steakhouse.
This has been controversial news as The Wave is one of the most highly rated restaurants at Disney World, with a menu that gets rave reviews. I hope when the restaurant returns the food on the menu will be just as excellent as it currently is.
Boo Bash - August 10th - October 31st
Starting August 10th until Halloween night on October 31st Magic Kingdom will be hosting a new Halloween event, the After Hours Boo Bash!
This three-hour event will let you see Disney Villains dotted throughout the park, eat from some spooktacular treats that have been specially created for this event, hear performances by the Cadaver Dans, see the amazingly frightful decor and hear creepy music! The best news is adults can come in costume!
The Boo Bash starts at 7pm until midnight (with select dates running from 7.30pm until 12.30am) but you can enter Magic Kingdom from 5pm on the day of your event! As you have to pay extra for the party it is a great idea to pay for this and save yourself the cost of a full day ticket. The Boo Bash will take place in Magic Kingdom and if you enter at 5pm you will get a full 7 hours in the park!
Many dates are already sold out so be sure to book quickly! Disney have also been releasing extra tickets for dates that are sold out so keep an eye out if this impacts you.
