Everything You Can Do At Disney World Without Visiting The Parks!

When people think of Walt Disney World they often think of the incredible theme parks and everything that is available to do in them, such as enjoy the incredible rides, spectacular shows and world-class entertainment. But Walt Disney World has so much more on offer than just the theme parks!



Here is everything you can do at Disney World Resort without stepping foot in a theme park!





  • Enjoy incredible dining by booking a reservation at one of the many restaurants available at the Disney Resorts. For a spectacular view over Magic Kingdom make a sunset reservation at California Grill. If you want a truly special experience visit Victoria & Albert's, voted one of the best restaurants in America.


  • Sail around Disney Springs in a vintage amphicar! You can hire this awesome mode of transport from the BOATHOUSE Restaurant.


  • Keep an eye out for wild animals whilst enjoying the nature trails at Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.


  • Try FootGolf at Disney's Oak Trail. This fun sport is a cross between golf and football/soccer.


  • Take part in a Starlight Safari at Animal Kingdom Lodge.


  • Rent a canoe or kayak from Fort Wilderness and have your own adventure on the water!



  • Take a ride on Disney's newest mode of transport, the Skyliner, and see Walt Disney World Resort from a different perspective - in the air!


  • Play a round of golf on one of Disney's own golf courses.


  • Head to Disney Springs, home to a plethora of shops, restaurants and entertainment. You can spend a full day browsing for souvenirs, eating at one of the many incredible restaurants and unwind with a film at the AMC movie theater or enjoy some bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes. You can also experience live music and entertainment at House of Blues, Raglan Road and Stargazers Live.


  • If you are a fan of Basketball head to the NBA Experience at Disney Springs to live out your hoop dreams at this interactive experience!


  • If you are a fan of wine be sure to book the Jiko Wine Tasting at Animal Kingdom Lodge.


  • Hire a motorised boat from one of the Disney Resorts around Seven Seas Lagoon and enjoy exploring the area by water!



  • Take a visit to Animal Kingdom Lodge to view the incredible animals on the savannah. You can also Dine With An Animal Specialist to find out all about these awesome creatures and how they are looked after at Animal Kingdom whilst enjoying a delicious meal at Jiko. Or book a trip on the Wanyama Safari for a private safari at Animal Kingdom Lodge and a tasty meal at Jiko.


  • Have your little one transformed into a princess or prince at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney Springs or at the Grand Floridian Resort.


  • Hire a bike and explore the Disney Resorts in a unique way! You can even hire a 4 person Surrey bike!


  • Try your hand at archery at Fort Wilderness.


  • Time for tea? Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea at Garden View Tea Room at the Grand Floridian Resort.



  • Enjoy highly themed miniature golf at the two Disney World locations - Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland.


  • You are still able to enjoy a character dining experience without having to step foot into the parks! Make reservations for breakfast at Topolino's Terrace at the Riviera Resort or Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort to dine with Mickey and his pals.


  • Have you face put on to M & M's at the M & M Store at Disney Springs.


  • Take part in a Skyliner bar or snack crawl! Stop off at each Disney Resort on the Skyliner and enjoy a beverage or snack.


  • Watch the Electrical Water Pageant. You can view this nighttime spectacular featuring lit up flotillas from the Disney Resorts surrounding Seven Seas Lagoon. Head to the Polynesian Village Resort, Grand Floridian Resort, Contemporary Resort or Wilderness Lodge to enjoy this show!



  • See Disney from a different perspective by taking a journey on the Aerophile, the balloon flight available at Disney Springs.


  • Pamper yourself and book a treatment at one of the spas at a Disney World Resort.


  • Head to Fort Wilderness and visit Tri-Circle D Ranch to see the Disney horses.


  • Make your very own Mickey cake with a cake decorating class at Amorette's Patisserie at Disney Springs.


  • Try drinks from all around the world at the rooftop bar at the Coca Cola Store in Disney Springs.



  • Take part in a monorail bar or snack crawl. Stop off at each Disney Resort on the Monorail loop and enjoy a beverage or snack. Or take part in the Highway in the Sky Dine Around, a special dining experience where you get to dine at each of the monorail resorts before watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks.


  • Find out all about the incredible animals at Animal Kingdom Lodge with a backstage tour on the Sense of Africa experience, which also includes breakfast.


  • Enjoy a firework dessert party without paying to enter the parks! The Pirates & Pals Firework Voyage departs from the Contemporary Resort where you can watch fireworks from Seven Seas Lagoon.


  • Take part in the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure where you can explore Fort Wilderness on a Segway!


  • Visit Disney's BoardWalk and enjoy a range of shops, restaurants and bars. You can also resort hop here and visit the Yacht Club Resort, BoardWalk Inn and Beach Club Resort.



There is so much available to do at Walt Disney World Resort outside of the parks! It is quite easy to be able to have an entire trip to Disney World without ever visiting a theme park! These activities and experiences are also great options for rest days as part of your Disney World trip.
